Latest from Luxor.

Well, as many of you will know, I'm certainly no Muslim, neither am I particularly interested in keeping up with their holy days and holidays. But I do know that the birthday of their prophet Muhammad is almost upon us! In fact it's hard to not notice, as at almost every bit of spare space in almost any street the stalls are going up which sell the fairy type dolls and the disgusting looking E number concoctions of luminous pink sugar statues.

The first picture below was taken by the railway crossing at Abu Jude and the other is one of about a dozen or so along the length of Manshiya Street. Of course I'd taken quite a few others as well, but my dodgey camera work put paid to those. (Why don't they make a fool-proof camera?)
